This 6-week 5Rhythms series is a space to get out of your head and back into your body -through rhythm, sweat, and what’s real.
Summer already knows how to do this.
Things loosen. Patterns shift. Energy moves.
The question is….can you follow it?
Each week we will orient around one of the five rhythms - Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness - not as concepts to master, but as states of being explored through somatic movement and dance. These rhythms offer a map for embodiment, emotional expression, nervous system regulation, and creative inquiry.
This series is designed for those seeking a grounded, body-based movement practice -whether you are new to somatic dance or a long-time dancer looking to deepen your relationship with the practice. The emphasis is not on performance or aesthetic movement, but on presence, sensation, and honest expression.
Heat Wave is a closed container.
Because somatic work and embodied practice deepen through continuity and trust, this six-week series is offered as a committed experience. There are no drop-ins or one-off classes. This structure supports nervous system safety, relational consistency, and the depth that comes from practicing together over time.
Together, we will work with the wave as a living practice, tracking sensation, expression, and change as it unfolds in the body.
No choreography.
No performance.
No fixing.
Just a floor. A beat. And a body that already knows the way.
And—life happens. Most folks miss a class or two. Just come back to the next wave when you can.
