Three nights in the mountains. The longest days of the year. And an invitation to come fully alive.
Summer has never been particularly interested in our restraint.
She throws open the windows and stays out late. Gets dirt under our fingernails and sweat down our backs. She asks us to come outside, loosen our grip, and remember there is more to being alive than holding everything together.
This Summer Solstice, we're following that invitation into the mountains.
HOWL is a three-night 5Rhythms® gathering devoted to movement, nature, pleasure, play, and the delicious unpredictability of being fully here.
We'll dance. A lot.
We'll sweat, wander outside, eat together, rest, laugh, gather, and celebrate the longest days of the year. We'll make space for spontaneity and follow the rhythms of our bodies rather than the relentless rhythm of productivity.
Think summer camp - but for grown-ups who want to dance their asses off, sleep well, eat good food, spend time outside, and remember what it feels like to play.
And underneath all of it, we'll be listening.
What feels alive?
Not what should you want or what looks good from the outside.
Definitely not what keeps everybody else comfortable.
What brings heat to your belly, breath to your chest, curiosity to your feet?
This isn't an invitation to abandon yourself or say yes to everything.
Quite the opposite.
Our practice will be one of becoming present enough, grounded enough, and honest enough to recognize the difference between an obligatory yes, a protective no, an uncertain maybe - and the unmistakable yes you can feel in your bones.
Through the 5Rhythms® map of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness, we'll practice listening beneath the noise, loosening what has become unnecessarily tight, moving what wants to move, and making room for pleasure, instinct, connection, and a little more wildness.
Wild doesn't have to mean loud.
It might be dancing until your clothes are drenched.
Bare feet in the grass.
An afternoon nap.
Cold water on hot skin.
Laughing too loudly.
A long conversation after dark.
We are talking about the kind of wild that gets quiet enough to hear the life that's already moving through you.
We'll meet the solstice together - long days, wild nights and see what happens when we follow what feels alive.
