Legs & Feet
Ground, direction, and the ways we stand in our lives
A Body of Trust gathering · An intimate somatic expressive arts studio experience with Alyssa Jurewicz Johns
Before the next step, there is contact.
Weight meeting ground. A shift in balance. The body finding somewhere to stand.
In this gathering, we turn toward the legs and feet, exploring how we receive support, find direction, and move through the world. Through movement, body mapping, drawing, and writing, we’ll listen to the gestures of standing, stepping, yielding, and pausing.
What ground are you standing on? How have you learned to walk through your life? What happens when you give yourself time to feel the next step?
Let sensation and imagination offer a place to begin.
Inside the studio
Together, we’ll move between embodied experience and artistic expression, giving gestures, colors, shapes, and words room to develop. There is space to explore individually and to be witnessed with curiosity and respect.
Rooted in the Tamalpa Life/Art Process, this gathering belongs to Body of Trust: Creative Investigations in Movement & Image, extending the inquiries in my book into our relationship with ground and direction.
This session can be attended independently. No previous movement or art experience is needed. Seated movement and adaptations are welcome; you choose how you participate and what you share.
